3M Machine Vision Camera Interconnect Solutions
3M offers a broad portfolio of camera interconnect solutions with machine vision technology to empower machines and computers to interpret visual information with human-like comprehension. With a sophisticated algorithm, machine vision enables analysis and response to real-world visual data. Cameras and sensor systems today require increasingly complex information capture with improved clarity and efficiency. Machine vision systems include cameras, frame grabbers, and vision libraries. Interface standards ensure interoperability between different manufacturers and specific goal achievement. The standards comprise data rate, signal speed, signal integrity, and bandwidth confluence, including resolution, frame rate, and bit depth. The interface standards also outline required connectivity equipment, which must balanced according to local network capabilities and budget restrictions. Cables, connectors, assemblies, connector shells, and strain relief accessories are used in machine vision systems.
3M Machine Vision Camera Interconnect Systems provide improved performance, robustness, and reliability at a lower total system cost. 3M offers connectors, cables, and cable assemblies for high-speed and high-density I/O applications in three machine vision standards: USB3 Vision®, Camera Link®, and CoaXpress®.
3M USB3 Vision Industrial Camera Cable Assemblies offer longer functional cable lengths beyond 10m for stationary and 7m for repetitive motion applications. The USB3 Vision cable assemblies feature screw lock and angled connector options for a robust connection tested at >100 million cycles.
3M Camera Link Industrial Camera Cable Assemblies and Connectors originated the Camera Link standard, which requires mid-range data rates and various configurations of MDR, SDR, and PoCL system costs.
3M CoaXpress Industrial Camera Cable Assemblies meet CoaXpress CXP-6 and CXP-12 output configuration standards. These cable assemblies are available in standard and high-performance flexible options and tested at >45 million cycles.
