Microchip Technology MIC74 I/O Expanders
Microchip Technology MIC74 I/O Expanders are 2-wire serial I/O expanders and fan controllers with the SMBus™ (System Management Bus) protocol. The SMBus acts as a slave on the bus and provides eight independent I/O lines. Each I/O bit can be individually programmed as an input or output. These MIC74 I/O expanders have an internal clock generator and state machine to eliminate the overhead generally associated with bit-banging fan speed control. The expanders are available in ultra-small footprint 16-pin QSOP. The MIC74 expanders feature a low quiescent current and low package height that makes the expanders ideal for portable and desktop applications.Features
