Microchip Technology EV73E88A Evaluation Board

Microchip Technology EV73E88A Evaluation Board is a development platform for evaluating high-density Power over Ethernet (PoE) Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) designs. The board combines the Microchip Technology PD77718 PoE manager and PD77010 PoE controllers to support 48 two-pair or 24 four-pair IEEE 802.3bt PoE ports. Designed for enterprise and industrial networking applications, the EV73E88A enables evaluation of advanced PoE power-management and control functions. The board interfaces with Microchip Technology VSC56xx, LAN969x, SparX-5i PCB135, and Laguna Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) switch platforms, helping accelerate the development of next-generation Ethernet infrastructure equipment.

Features

  • 2x 24x2 header connectors to connect to the RJ45 and magnetic on the motherboard (MB)
  • 1x 13x2 header connector to connect communication and control signals to the MB
  • 48x 2-pair ports or 24x 4-pair ports, structured by 6x PD77718 devices and controlled by the PD77010
  • I2C communication between 6x PoE PSE ICs and the PoE controller
  • Manual disable port jumpers
  • 2x bi-color (green and yellow) LEDs per port to provide visual status of each port
  • Requires only a single power source
  • 0°C to +40°C operating temperature range
  • RoHS-compliant

Applications

  • PoE networking equipment
  • Industrial Ethernet and TSN systems
  • PSE development and validation
  • Network infrastructure equipment
