Precision Amplifiers for Stepper Motors

Current sensing amplifiers, also known as current-sense or current-shunt amplifiers, measure electrical current. The voltage across a resistor in a current path is directly proportional to that current, per Ohm's law. Thus, measuring current is highly dependent upon the resistance for accuracy. Integrated circuits for current measurement are more efficient, accurate, and are an overall lower cost solution over a discrete current-sensing solution.
