LM5060 High-Side Protection Controllers

Texas Instruments LM5060 High-Side Protection Controllers with Low Quiescent Current offers intelligent control of a high-side N-channel MOSFET during normal on/off transitions and fault conditions. The constant rise time of the output voltage results from the inrush current control. Both an Input UVLO (with hysteresis) and a programmable input OVP are provided, with an enable input offering a remote on or off control. The initial start-up VGS fault detection delay time, the transition VDS fault detection delay time, and the continuous over-current VDS fault detection delay time is programmed from a single capacitor. The MOSFET is latched off until either the enable input, or the UVLO input is toggled low and then high when a detected fault condition persists longer than the allowed fault delay time.

TPS2661x Current Loop Protector

Texas Instruments TPS2661x Current Loop Protector is a compact, feature-rich, fully integrated current loop protector suitable for analog inputs, analog outputs, sensor transmitters, HART Inputs, and UART IO protection. It provides Universal Input protection for ±20mA, 0 to 20mA, and 4-20mA. A low RON of 7.5Ω minimizes drop in the current loop, thereby extending operating range and supporting operation even with lower voltage power supplies. The device can withstand and protect the loads from positive and negative supply voltages up to ±50V. The MODE pin allows flexibility to enable a 2x current limit through the device to enable the proper startup of two-wire transmitters. The device is capable of operating from an external bipolar supply as low as ± 2.25V to ±20V. It can also be powered from unipolar supplies as low as 3V to 30V. The Texas Instruments TPS2661x features loop power mode to facilitate loop testing in an un-powered state without ±Vs supplies.
