Texas Instruments BQ24315 ICs

Texas Instruments' BQ24315 highly integrated circuits are designed to provide protection to Li-ion batteries from failures of the charging circuit. The ICs continuously monitor the input voltage, input current, and battery voltage, as well as its own die temperature and switches off if it becomes too hot. In the case of an over-current condition, the IC immediately removes power from the charging circuit by turning off an internal switch, limits the system current at the threshold value, and switches the pass element off after a blanking period if the over-current persists. The ICs provide the maximum amount of safety in the smallest solution size.
