POSCAP™ TQC Polymer Tantalum Solid Capacitors

Panasonic POSCAP™ TQC Conductive Polymer Tantalum Solid Capacitors are ideal for high voltage, low equivalent series resistance (ESR), and low-profile applications. These capacitors are most suitable as a bypass capacitor on a 12V motor driver or the input side of a DC-DC converter. The TQC series is available in B2, D2, D12, D15, D15E, and D3L size codes in dimensions ranging from 3.5mm x 2.8mm x 1.9mm to 7.3mm x 4.3mm x 2.8mm. Other features include a 16V to 35V rated voltage range, 3.9μF to 220μF capacitance range, 40mΩ to 400mΩ ESR, and 0.5A to 1.8A rated ripple current. Panasonic POSCAP TQC capacitors have a -55°C to +105°C operating temperature range while providing up to 2000 hours of endurance.

Polymer Capacitors

Panasonic Capacitors offer a wide range of technologies that can be used in the most demanding applications. OS-CON™ parts are characterized by a long life span and minimal changes in ESR throughout the entire rated temperature range. POSCAP (tantalum polymer) parts offer high reliability and high heat resistance, making them the ideal Chip Capacitor for digital, high-frequency devices, and more. The SP-Cap (aluminum polymer SMD) line from Panasonic is composed of multiple series that offer extremely low ESR, a capacitance range up to 560µF, and a voltage range from 2V to 16V, achieving good noise suppression and transient response. Unlike MLCCs, SP-Caps are not susceptible to temperature drift and DC/AC bias characteristics. The EEH-ZA/ZC/ZK series utilizes the benefits of both electrolytic and aluminum polymer capacitor technologies, creating a capacitor with low ESR, low leakage current, high ripple current, and smaller case sizes.

Available in several series that include solid electrolyte chip capacitors, the product line utilizes a sintered tantalum anode and a proprietary high-conductivity polymer for a cathode. This construction and processing design yields low ESR levels and reliable performance in high-frequency applications. The capacitors offer a voltage range of 2VDC to 35VDC and a capacitance range of 3.9µF to 1500µF. Panasonic POSCAP capacitors also feature high reliability, heat resistance, and volumetric capacitance efficiency. They are available in a variety of compact sizes, making them ideal for digital applications, high-frequency devices, and more.
