High CV SMD Capacitor Solutions

KYOCERA AVX High Capacitance / Voltage (CV) SMD Capacitors are designed to enable optimum performance across all power applications. This ceramic capacitor solution for SMD applications includes extremely high CV (X5R) MLCCs with low ESR for general-purpose decoupling and filtering and high CV (X7R, X7S, and X8R) MLCCs with FlexiTerm for industrial, automotive (AEC-Q200), and commercial applications. KYOCERA AVX Electrolytic Capacitor solutions include small case size tantalum chip, conductive polymer, and fail-safe niobium oxide (Oxicap™) that overlap with commercial, industrial, and AEC-Q200 ceramic ratings, in many cases providing interchangeable solutions. In contrast, the larger case sizes provide even higher CV options.

TCN J-Cap & Undertab Polymer Chip Capacitors

KYOCERA AVX TCN J-CAP™ and Undertab Conductive Polymer Chip Capacitors are 100% surge current tested and offer benign failure mode under recommended use conditions. These lead-free, RoHS-compliant modules feature low equivalent series resistance (ESR) and an undertab terminations layout that provides high volumetric efficiency, high capacitance in smaller dimensions, and high PCB assembly density. The J-CAP series offers the highest energy per volume and fast leakage current (DCL) drop with voltage applied after reflow. The TCN series features a conductive polymer electrode and the highest constant voltage/constant current (CV/CC) in a broad range of low-profile cases. KYOCERA AVX TCN J-CAP and Undertab Conductive Polymer Chip Capacitors are ideal for battery-powered portable equipment, industrial alarms, smart power meters, mobile devices, and other consumer goods.

Capacitor Solutions

KYOCERA AVX provides a large portfolio of capacitor solutions designed around density, size, and reliability requirements. Common capacitor types include aluminum electrolytic, tantalum electrolytic, ceramic, and film. KYOCERA AVX ceramic capacitors are commonly used in DC-DC converters, which can be found in nearly every subsystem of electric vehicles (EVs). 

TCN Conductive Polymer Chip Capacitors

KYOCERA AVX TCN Conductive Polymer Chip Capacitors offer high volumetric capacitance efficiency in a low-profile package. These capacitors feature a wide range of capacitance and low ESR in case sizes as small as 0805. The TCNO part numbers feature a maximum height of 0.6mm. The TCN series utilizes a conductive polymer electrode, exhibiting benign failure mode under recommended conditions. KYOCERA AVX TCN Conductive Polymer Chip Capacitors are ideally suited for small power modules, handheld devices, and other height-restricted applications.

Tantalum Polymer Capacitors

KYOCERA AVX Tantalum Polymer Capacitors provide high voltages and some of the smallest case sizes on the market. These devices offer the ability to operate at high line voltages and withstand high ripple currents. KYOCERA AVX Tantalum Polymer Capacitors provide greater stability over ambient temperature and applied voltage ranges when compared to MLCC devices. The polymer capacitors are available in a wide variety of technologies, including low profile, high CV, J-lead, and facedown (undertab) styles. These halogen-free capacitors are RoHS, REACH, and WEEE compliant.
