MLCC Replacement Solutions

KEMET KOCAP Tantalum Polymer Capacitors are ideal for board space savings, a piezo noise-free environment, high capacitance, long stable life performance, and/or lower profile requirements. Tantalum polymer capacitors are selected over other capacitor technologies when application voltages are less than 50V, capacitance needs are between 1µF to 1mF, and application frequencies are below 1MHz. Since replacing ceramic capacitors with tantalum polymer capacitors is not typically one-for-one, designers need to consider several design requirements as outlined in the schematic below.

T502 MnO2 230°C Molded Tantalum Capacitors

KEMET T502 MnO2 Molded Tantalum Capacitors are ideal for decoupling and filtering in 230°C temperature environments such as measurement while drilling (MWD) in down-hole applications. The capacitors contain a molded case that is volumetrically efficient and protects against shock and vibration. KEMET T502 MnO2 Molded Tantalum Capacitors also feature an F-Tech anode, KEMET's patented simulated breakdown voltage screening (SBDS), and a unique high-temperature material set. Surge current options are available.  

Solid Tantalum Capacitors

KEMET Solid Tantalum Capacitors are a high-reliability Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) family of capacitors that provide very low ESR and high surge current capabilities. These surface-mount MnO2 capacitors cover a range of applications, including industrial, automotive, defense, and space-grade options.
